The Weeknd and Future were two of my top hip-hop/R&B artists in 2015, so I was excited to hear their new collaborative track "Low Life," released this past Christmas on SoundCloud.
The Weeknd delivers a super smooth, addictive hook, deviating from his Michael Jackson-esque style in his latest album Beauty Behind the Madness. Future seems to influence a darker side of The Weeknd with his signature heavy, drug-induced sound.
Producer Metro Boomin, who is best known for creating instrumentals for rappers including Drake, continues to kill it with those simple, echoey snares, along with producer Ben Billions, who produced one of my favorite tracks, "Often," by The Weeknd.
