Here's a song I've been playing on repeat lately, off of Ryan Hemsworth's first solo album Guilt Trips. While Ryan is known for his quirky, eclectic instrumental textures, "One for Me" featuring Tinashe's breathy, soulful vocals definitely follows a more traditional pop/R&B style, making it a nice song to introduce my friends to Ryan's music. (I also recommend his remix of Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness," which you can listen to on SoundCloud here.) I became addicted to this song after watching its Sophia Coppola-esque music video. While it may be hard not to envy the seemingly glamorous lives of being a DJ, I love that Ryan portrays the ironically alienating aspects of his fame.
