Flume is special in that he has an incredible ear for vocalists that would pair well with his dark, moody production. I've discovered a ton of artists just through his collaborations – Chet Faker, George Maple, and KUÇKA, to name a few.
On Skin Companion EP II, the follow-up to his Grammy-winning album Skin, he's paired up with Moses Sumney, the LA-based singer who supported James Blake on tour in the fall. I'm in love with the dark, melodic nature of the track, coupled with Sumney's gritty vocals and the piano sequences, which add an elegance to the track. It reminds me of the production in Flume's debut, self-titled album – his original sound that I fell in love with in 2013.
